Marc Setness
My name is 2LT Marc Setness, and I am a West Point graduate currently serving as an Infantry Officer at Fort Moore, Georgia. My West Point experience was unlike most. It took me seven years to graduate due to disciplinary hearing stemming from infractions I committed at the academy. I was given an opportunity for redemption by stepping back from the academy for two years and serving as an Infantry Soldier in the 82nd Airborne.
During my time in the 82nd I had the opportunity to serve my country by deploying to Afghanistan to aid with the evacuation of Kabul during the fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban. After coming back from my deployment my reapplication to West Point was accepted and I returned to the Academy to finish my final three quarters. My seven years at the Academy completely changed the outlook of my life and I realized that I have the ability to assist others in their journey to the Academy with my experience of getting accepted into West Point twice.
